The mission of Open World is to enhance understanding and capabilities for cooperation between the United States and the countries of Eurasia by developing a network of  leaders in the region who have gained significant, firsthand exposure to America’s democratic, accountable government and its free market system.

Kingman Route 66 Rotarian, Andrea Shields, is the coordinator for the hosting of this delegation of young women who are leading professionals in each of their career fields.  Route 66 club members are hosting the delegates in their homes for a full language and cultural immersion experience.

The group came to Lake Havasu City Sunday, March 15, and were treated to lunch, a walking tour of the bridge and Rotary Park, where one of the delegates, who had come prepared, enjoyed a quick swim in Lake Havasu.  Area Rotarians who joined them enjoyed a lunch-time conversation during which many questions were asked and answered through the interpreters who accompanied the tour. All Present enjoyed the opportunity to listen and participate in answering and asking questions about each other, discovering some differences in the way things are done in each country, at the same time enjoying the chance to discover the many ways we are alike as individuals.
